There are plenty of guides to marketing. From textbooks to online video tutorials, you can really take your pick. But, we felt that there was something missing — a guide that really starts at the beginning to equip already-intelligent professionals with a healthy balance of strategic and tactical advice. The Beginner’s Guide to Online Marketing closes that gap.
Investing is arguably the easiest way to make passive income.  The problem is most investments sound good in theory but don’t work out so well in practice.  And if you don’t have much experience or access to capital, let alone the time to work it all out, it can seem more or less impossible.  However, there is one smart way to invest that just might work.  Continue reading >
While building apps for Apple (or Android) mobile devices can be a lucrative way to generate passive income online, it's not as easy as many people make it seem. Beside the fact that it’s hard to get your app noticed among the millions being released every year, most people expect apps to be either free or very inexpensive. In fact, a recent study found that only 11% of apps are paid for. The number of paid apps will only decline over time as more players join the market. The key, like many of the business model mentioned here, is to be strategic and creative from the very start. There are a few ways to monetize your app and keep it free for users. Examples include advertising, premium services, and sponsors.
PopAds is one of the most searched Pop-Under ad networks. These are but a few guidelines on how you can increase your affiliate sales and continually grow your affiliate checks. Sure there can be a lot of other tips that out there, and if you think they would work, we won't discourage you from following them. What's important is that you be able to find a way to: attract more traffic to your site, induce your visitors to click on the ads on your site, and be able to promote your merchant's products even outside the boundary of your website. If you can do these, there's no reason for you to fail in affiliate marketing.
Unless you have worked directly in a marketing role or have run a website before, you probably do not know the basics of internet marketing. Sure, you can probably do a pretty good Google search, you might know your way around social media, and you can hold your own when it comes to online research, but actually building a site and marketing it to make money? That probably seems like a tall order, and I’m not going to lie… It will not be a fast and easy process to learn everything you need to learn. The good news is, as long as you’re willing to put in the time and effort, you can and you will learn how to build amazing affiliate marketing websites that earn you a passive income.
Creating blog content is a very useful and effective way of consistently building content on a site. When creating blog posts, it's a good idea to do some keyword research to figure out what it is that your audience is interested in and searching for online. Also, be sure to research competitors, forums and social media to narrow down on topics for your blog.
When it comes to online marketing basics, you can essentially break things down into four categories: search engines, content creation/distribution, social media and paid advertising. While your start-up’s clientele, products and services will dictate exactly how you should proceed, a solid online marketing strategy uses all of these efforts to a certain degree. Depending on the nature of your start-up, some strategies may be more lucrative than others.
JVZoo’s strength is that it allows experienced marketers to gain access to product launches and a huge range of online courses while setting up sales funnels and customized landing pages. It’s definitely not for someone who wants to monetize a blog or earn money by having users click through and buy physical products. If you’ve carved out a strong presence online in the marketing space, JVZoo might be a perfect fit.
I’d stick with Amazon if I were you. All of my Amazon sites only have Amazon affiliate links. If you use Google Adsense display ads on your site, you’re literally taking people away from your site for the sake of just a few cents with these type of ads. If you direct them just to Amazon, then you have a greater chance of earning more money from that click.
SocialPilot is a social media automation tool which is widely popular among bloggers & entrepreneurs. It helps you in scheduling updates on multiple social-media accounts & also you can automate by auto-publishing using RSS. I have been using them for a while & since the Bufferapp Affiliate program has retired, this is one of the best social media affiliate program available at this time. You can learn more about SocialPilot here.
ViewThrough Tracking Functionality. Whether you are implementing a revenue share or flat rate commission system, forging equitable relationships with publishers is crucial if you want to make your affiliate marketing campaign work. With CJ Affiliate’s ViewThrough tracking feature, you can properly incentivize publishers by leveraging the software’s tracking technology and suite of reporting tools.

Care about privacy. Even though most users don't bother to read privacy policies, studies show they do care. My guess is that this will only increase over time. Make sure you have a good privacy policy and a privacy statement on your site that is easy to find and customer friendly. Build your privacy policy around your customers' concerns. When it comes to email, never send out unsolicited email (spam), it not only damages your reputation and could get you into hot water, it also has extremely low response rates.
Hey there, I’m Mahesh (@maheshone). I started learning and doing and experimenting web 2.0 stuff back in 2004 and eventually became a full-time computer nerd after graduation. Minterest is a digital marketing and technology journal that I founded in 2007 to feed my super curiosity (oh yeah, I’m a solo-blogger). I write about tech, marketing, and everything in between that excites me. And I love to work with small businesses to help them get the most out of the web. Outside of that, I'm equally passionate about the financial markets and I also spend a lot of time doing random things (see random facts about me). Say hi: @maheshone. Read More »
Seth Godin recently wrote a post on marketing ethics at his blog that has marketers talking. I applaud Seth's passion and his clever way of addressing marketing ethics in his book "All Marketers are Liars." It's a topic our profession needs to dialogue on and care about. I realize that business ethics books don't sell very well, so I'll keep this short and hope you'll look at Seth's post.
Choose a distinct segment, best-seller product that appeals to the bulk of your readers. Ideally, it ought to be a product you actively use or have an honest understanding of a way to use. If you are not quite positive that tool to settle on from an inventory of market competitors, investigate ratings on review sites to visualize however real users feel regarding it.

If you’re not prepared to take on the cost or the responsibility of owning a rental property, you can become a landlord on a smaller scale by renting out a room (or a couple of rooms) in your own house. Taking in a boarder certainly has its own set of risks, since you are letting a stranger into your home. On the plus side, it doesn’t cost you anything to acquire the property, since you already own it, and it shouldn’t take that much more work to maintain just because you have an extra person living there.
2. You clearly have plenty of money already. Just more padding in your already cushy nest. This is not the story for a lot of people. Your title should be “How to become richer than you already are without working.” But, actually the investment one is the only one that would make money without actual WORK. Running rental properties is a lot of work, and so is running a business, or even a blog. Sooooo…..while there might be some truth to this, I think it’s mostly grass that looks greener because it’s on the other side of the fence.
So it’s awesome to hear you’re out there promoting other programs. When it comes to those in-house programs, I absolutely agree. One reason I think they’re incredibly lucrative is just the flexibility that you have with them. You’ll usually be dealing with decision makers that can make special changes to their funnel to meet your website needs even better. I’ve known affiliates that have even helped these in-house programs with their CRO to get better conversions. Definitely not the kind of access you’re going to get with the Amazon Associates program
Stock dividends: Some stocks, especially stocks from big corporate standouts, pay dividends to shareholders based on the number of shares they own, and the percentage of the stock price on the dividend date. For example, if a company pays out 3% on a stock that's trading at $100 per share, you'll earn $3 for every share of that stock you own. Add it up and that can be good take-home pay as a passive investment.
Before starting any paid advertising strategy, it’s important to understand costs can add up quickly when you are presenting your ads to hundreds of thousands (and possibly millions) of people. This is where the budgeting feature comes into effect. All paid advertising channels allow you to set hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly budgets. In essence, once you reach a certain threshold, your ad is discontinued until the next designated period starts. Use these to your advantage until you get a good idea of your ROI.

If you have built up an email list, you could also promote your affiliate offers via email promotions. Just make sure you build up a relationship with your audience first instead of going for the hard sell straightaway. The emails you send out must contain your affiliate links to products so when your audience click through. the sale is attributed to you.
When you promote a product you also promote the person or the company who is behind the product so try to choose wisely. You don’t want your visitors to go and buy a product following your advice then come back unhappy. Do you think that this visitor will come back to your site and take your advice again? Most likely no; this can hurt your credibility in the long run. Usually, websites/company that offer good customer service will have better customer satisfaction so try to stick with promoting their products.
SEO – Another popular method of promoting affiliate products but also the most difficult is Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. SEO doesn’t bring results instantly but it can be extremely rewarding in the long run.
